In 2004, attorneys Clifton L. "Scrappy" Holmes and David E. Moore decided to merge their separate, successful practices to create the law firm of Holmes & Moore, P.L.L.C. At Holmes & Moore, our lawyers have been fighting for the rights of East Texans for decades.

Clifton L. "Scrappy" Holmes has been nationally recognized for his criminal defense practice and has appeared on national broadcast talk shows and news programs. In more than 35 years of practice, Scrappy has won numerous awards, was a named criminal defense lawyer in the Texas Lawyer Go-To Guide in 2002 and 2007 and was listed in the Texas Monthly's "Super Lawyer" edition for the past six years. He has earned these and other distinctions and awards by successfully defending numerous clients in criminal cases, including death penalty cases.

David E. Moore is a sixth-generation East Texan, who began his career in the 1980s as an assistant District Attorney in Gregg County. David went on to become the chief prosecutor for the 188th District Court, and was named Narcotics Prosecutor of the Year for the North Texas Region. In 1991, David began representing defendants in criminal defense cases, and has been consistently recognized by local and national news media outlets for his hard work and unyielding dedication to his clients.

Gregory A. Waldron has practiced law in East Texas for 15 years and his practice includes criminal defense, civil litigation, and Federal Law. Greg served for thirteen years as a federal public defender for the United States District Court, Eastern District of Texas, before entering the private practice of law. Throughout his career, he has been dedicated to the constitutional rights of civil and criminal litigants. Greg joined Holmes & Moore, P.L.L.C. in May of 2006 and became a shareholder in January of 2008.

Gena A. Bunn joined the practice of Holmes & Moore in April of 2008 after serving in the Texas Attorney General's office. Gena was formerly the Chief of the Post-conviction Litigation Division of the Texas Attorney General's Office, and has argued several cases in front of the United States Supreme Court. At Holmes & Moore, Gena represents clients in criminal law, appellate, federal law and civil litigation matters.

Jason L. Parrish joined the practice of Holmes & Moore in May of 2013 after serving in the Smith County District Attorney's office as a prosecutor.  Jason brings his extensive experience as a lead felony prosecutor with a wealth of experience, having tried over 120 jury trials.
